First off, this graphics card is really good for its price. If you're like me, a layperson to PC tech and jargon, then you are just trying to find a simple explanation and review. Does this graphics card work? Yes. Is it easy to install? Yes. Will it drastically increase your gaming experience if you were using lower quality stuff before? DEFINITELY.

It's worth the investment. Now, here are some of the cons.

If you have no experience with working on the hardware of your PC, you'll definitely need instructional videos and guides. Installation is very simple (either some screws, clamps, and snap racks), but the actual "how" to get it to work can be a bit fidgety. You need to make sure you have the latest update for Nvidia drivers, otherwise it won't work- at least, mine didn't. Also, the Graphics Card comes with a CD that will install Aorus, a program that helps monitor the output of the GPU (and some other stuff). I'm not sure if it's an issue with my PC, but Aorus keeps crashing my computer. I uninstalled it, and it hasn't crashed since. Just be weary of it. My only problem with the whole ordeal is that it took me a whole day to figure out how to get this GPU running. I googled a lot, and went on forums until I finally saw someone suggest updating the drivers. The Aorus program is not entirely necessary for running your GPU, but I can see how it would be nice to see how far you're pushing the card.

Speaking of which, let's talk about the graphics performance, the main thing you'll want to know. If this is worth any consideration, with this card I was able to push previous games of mine from the lowest settings to the highest. Even the screen resolution for my PC is better thanks to the card.

Here are the main games I bought this GPU for: 1. Company of Heroes 2 2. War Thunder

In the past, my PC was barely able to run COH2 and War Thunder. It would usually crash frame rates, leaving me to play each on the lowest setting possible. I actually stopped playing PC games for a while because of this issue. I configured the GTX, and BOOM. I was able to play COH2 and War Thunder on Max settings for my screen. I've never seen these graphics outside of someone else playing it!

In sum, this card is worth it. It's not crazy expensive like a lot of higher end cards, but it's just about right if you're someone like me who wants a good looking, casual experience.

First off lets look what I'm using this in: A old Walmart "box" Dell Inspiron 560 computer (2009 era) with the Intel e5400 CPU; 10 Gig Ram, Win10 and stock 300 Watt power supply. This by NO means a powerhouse of a computer. With the on-board graphics being only good for the most basic of games and videos, we moved to upgrade the video to a Nvidia GT 520 (2011 era). One of the limiting factors with video cards is the power supply in the computer having enough power. Back then the GT 520 fit the bill only requiring 300W. This card worked fine until games became more graphic heavy.

Playing what would be considered "simple single and multi-player games" with my son (he has a gaming computer) was more of a aggravation then enjoyment. Games like; Flight Simulator, Spin Tires, Euro Truck Simulator, Modern Warfare 2 (all on Steam) would suffer along on only the lowest of settings.

Well this Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 has changed all that. Now these games are running smooth and quick. It's like having a whole new computer, even with the lacking "CPU" power. With the Video settings on High, I'm now "booking" on all my games and simulators!

The GTX 1050 requires only 300W power so no issues there. It does take the space of an extra slot in the back out your PC case, but does push right in to the board with no extra wiring. The fans are quite when the run.

I currently run two monitors, one on HDMI and one with the DVI-D (using a converter to VGA). There is a DP (display port) connector for my third monitor Ill be getting soon.

So far the only lacking is the Utility Program - kinda slow to open but does have different settings you can play this like over-clocking, fan speed, etc.

All in all, this is a great card for the price and a perfect upgrade for a older computer.

It's a great budget graphics card for lower intensity gaming, but if you want high performance, it does falter. Overall, very good for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Budget GPU - But legit Purchase

Reviewed in India on April 25, 2022

A decent GPU for worstations, CAD work and 3D Modelling. Since there's no use-case for Gaming, it hasn't been tested. But this should give some decent performance for budget gamers.

The package arrived with some delay although it was not due to the seller.

The seller is a good one - reputable and reliable - relevant in today's supply crunch of GPUs and more so with some fraudsters in the GPU ecosystem.

Even when it came to compatibility a co.rep. reached out privately to check for it.

This has RGB lighting (for the text on the board) for those who care and with drivers on Gigabyte's website for controls to change it and even turn it off for people like me who don't care.

The software package has one-clock OC for gamers and other customisable options including performance, RGB lighting and fan speed.

This product may have been sitting on the shelf for months as the package arrived looking visibly old, even torn.

The inner plastic packaging was also torn at the corners so the only assurance was the "gigabyte qualified" tape.

The product itself though is brand new and didn't look refurbished or even worse. It functions well, and is legit, espcially after checking its details on Gigabyte's website.

Glad that PC Parts and Solutions is one good and reliable seller that stands out amongst an increasingly shady market of sellers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Non richiede alimentazione aggiuntiva, davvero silenziosa!

Reviewed in Italy on February 28, 2023
