Hp omen 15 performance control ไม ม performance

When playing games, editing videos, or doing any other task I noticed a severe drop in performance when unplugging my charger.

I know that using a laptop on the battery is always slower then when plugged in but the difference is way to extreme.

I did some benchmarks to confirm this:

Plugged in:

https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/22500959

CPU:

  • Normal: 240fps
  • Heavy: 464fps
  • Extreme: 760fps

GPU:

  • 3D DX9 : 260fps
  • 3D DX10: 220fps

----

battery:

https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/22500813

CPU:

  • Normal: 134fps
  • Heavy: 370fps
  • Extreme: 550fps

GPU:

  • 3D DX9 : 28fps
  • 3D DX10: 6fps

The drop in performance i see in the CPU is around what i'd expect when comparing battery to plugged in, so no issue there.

However the drop in GPU performance is off the charts, dropping from 220fps to 6fps is something i've never seen before.

When playing games (for example witcher on max settings) i can play on 60fps without any issue, i unplug the charger and it drops to 4fps.

I've updated all my drivers, manually and with the intel driver manager. (including bios). I've changed my power management settings to performance on max even on battery, but i notice no difference.

I've played around with the Nvidea settings, but no change there either.

Even with this bad performance the battery doesn't last too long, however i was aware of the short battery life on the laptop before i bought it, but i expected it to perform acceptable.

so tecnicaly your laptop aient cover at all, but this has been ongoing for years lach of better detail in system requirements for laptop, its quite funny, its a digital buy and yet so few info on it, its like they keep make info to a dvd box label. ( and what does this tell all pc owners that game devs have no clue whats going on in the world with pc tech and game laptop thats been there in so mnay years. ) this is a steam user forum and they dont read here. gl contact game devs and ask them or HP support. ( steam is not in controll over game devs content and game requirements. so its not a steam problem more a laptop brand that need to kick all game devs in the butt, im sure you can see a problem contact ever game devs in the world.

im sure you will get other view point on it, but problemis its still game devs job to give better detail in what laptop requirements is need for play that game, and yet i think its also HP brand problem to help kick some doors in, as user alone that is a hopeless battle to even get notice about the missing detail. ask any hear how long have we had gameing laptop over 20years , and see how few laptop info there is about it on the box lable.

and they cant use they not enough room in box cover to tell you then there is no box anymore.

and as laptop user thats your problem to run things in Full Performance. rest is game devs problem for not tell you that your laptop is not good enough.

The CPU sometimes reaches 99C, at full load, while the GPU reaches near to 88C, the specified max temp for the GPU. I have to stop playing in order for the temps to go down, as the fans only run at higher speeds when the laptop is already overheating.

I have tried to install the OMEN Gaming Hub to control the fans speed, but the "Performance Control" option does not exist, even after updating the "OMEN Gaming Hub SDK Package" from support.hp.com.

Thus, I have two questions/comments:

1. How can I use the OMEN Gaming Hub to control the laptop fans speed, or any other software for that matter? (I have tried other softwares such as the MSI Afterburner to no avail)

2. In case no software works at the moment, as it seems to be the case, I would ask for the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 to be included in the list of supported laptops for the "Performance Control" option of the OMEN Gaming Hub.

Sadly, branded as a "Gaming Laptop", it has been a disappointment to use this laptop because of the lack of proper software support to control its most basic functions such as the speed of the fans.
